Covid-19

Facility Upddate - 20th Mary 2022

We would like to update you on the current COVID - 19 situation.

DEAR RESIDENTS, FAMILIES AND INDEPENDENT LIVING UNIT RESIDENTS

Today is day 6 of the COVID - 19 exposure on Peter Top West wing. The five residents who have not recently had COVID - 19 in Peter Top West have undertaken a PCR test today as per public health close contact guidelines.

We expect the results tomorrow when both residents and NOK will be informed.
Following these results we may be able to relax the visiting to this area. Further communication will be sent tomorrow.

Unfortunately, today we have been informed that one of our residents has tested positive to COVID - 19 in Victoria Apartments.

This instigated a Rapid Antigen testing sweep of all residents within the facility who have not had COVID - 19 within the past 12 weeks. From this, one other resident has tested positive.
Both these residents are in isolation.

This places the facility in an outbreak.

To ensure that we contain this outbreak and prevent further spread, we have set up the following:

  • All staff working in Victoria Apartments and Peter Top West will be wearing full PPE

  • Non essential visits to Victoria Apartments are to cease until further notice. Please contact reception on 62433100 or email covid@qvcare.com.au if you would like to apply for an exemption to visit this area.

  • Peter Top West area remains restricted for non essential visits until test results are returned tomorrow.
  • Residents in Victoria Apartments and Peter Top West will be encouraged to remain in their rooms until further notice.
  • Residents in Victoria Apartments and Peter Top West will be encouraged to put on a mask and exercise along the corridors.
  • Extra cleaning will occur in Victoria Apartments and Peter Top West.
  • Extra staff have been allocated to Victoria Apartments.
  • PCR testing of all residents who have not had COVID - 19 during the last 12 weeks will occur on the 21st and 24th May. These results will be shared as soon as we have been notified.

Victoria Apartment residents are able to leave the facility with the following guidelines. If you would like to take your loved out please let reception know so that staff are able to be organised.

  • Those Victoria Apartment residents who recently had COVID can leave the facility with a loved one. They are encouraged to wear a mask.
  • Those Victoria Apartment residents who have not recently had COVID can leave the facility with a loved one if they have a negative RA test and must wear a mask whilst out of the facility.

The remainder of the Facility will remain open to visits as per normal procedure with a booking and negative RA test.

Once again we thank you for your cooperation and will ensure that we keep you informed along the way.

Kind Regards

Wendy Chamberlain
