Australian Defence Force

The Australian Defence Force personnel has been providing support in relation to the screening of entrants to facilities, cleaning, providing companionship to residents, resident activities and walks, supporting with meals and other non-direct care functions

On Sunday our amazing staff and ADF conducted a men's luncheon and Monday the team took some of our residents out to Bunnings to choose some beautiful flowers for their courtyards.
A resident working bee with the ADF is underway today to create some pots of colour and continue the home like activities that the residents enjoy working on.
All of these activities have been well planned with social distancing and COVID safe practices.

Thank you to our families

I would like to take a moment to also thank you, the families and representatives of our residents. We acknowledge that this has been a very challenging time for you all, your support and understanding has been imperative during this time. Thank you for your ongoing support and trusting us to care for your loved ones.

As we move towards being free of COVID it will be even more important to be vigilant in our practices.

We have extra staffing on all of shifts including our catering team so that we can conduct clinical reviews, engage our residents in safe engagement again, special hydration rounds have been conducted to ensure extra opportunities for residents to have one on one time with staff and have assistance to have extra drinks. An in room milkshake round has been a big hit.

We will be providing Family Forum Zoom sessions next week for those of you who would like an overview of the situation at QVC and lessons learned.

We have a great Mother's day plan coming up, if you intend to take a loved one out, we would appreciate you letting us know so we can make sure they are ready to go. If you let the team at Reception know.

The team work and dedication from the staff at this time remains something remarkable.

Kind Regards

Jacqui Marden
Acting Chief Executive Officer
