Covid-19

Facility Update 28th July 2022

We would like to provide you with an update on our current Outbreak.

DEAR RESIDENTS, FAMILIES AND INDEPENDENT LIVING UNIT RESIDENTS

We are very happy to inform you that today, July 28th, we have received notification from public health that we have been stood down from our current outbreak.

PCR testing was attended by Sonic on Tuesday providing us with one borderline result. With further testing this resident returned a negative result.

The total number of residents who tested positive during this outbreak was 3.

The outbreak was contained in Peter Top East and Peter Top West and lasted 9 days in total.

This is an exceptionally good outcome considering the position other Aged Care Facilities throughout Australia have been placed in, due to COVID outbreaks.

We would like to thank the residents for their patience and cooperation during this difficult time. We were pleased to be able to share some cheer with our Christmas in July lunch served with all the trimmings today.

We would like to acknowledge the efforts of Queen Victoria Care's staff who have continued to care and support the residents whilst containing the spread. Not an easy task!

I would especially like to acknowledge the hard work of our Infection Prevention and Control Lead Kelly Moore who works so hard to continually keep us all safe.

Last, but not least, thank you to our Queen Victoria Care families, for your ongoing understanding and willingness to assist us to keep our community safe.

Kind Regards

Wendy Chamberlain
