Sonic Health- further round of testing yesterday.
As you are aware Sonic Health completed a further round of testing yesterday.
Unfortunately, this has resulted in a further 9 residents testing positive to COVID.
This takes our total of active cases to 14, with 6 of our residents recovered.
We continue to manage this outbreak as communicated in our last email dated the 7th April.
The residents who have tested positive have mainly had mild to no symptoms and the use of antiviral medication (supplied by the commonwealth) has been ordered for those residents with symptoms, or at the discretion of the treating GP.
To ensure we continue to provide high quality care and companionship, we have increased our staffing levels during this time.
With a lot of our staff now returning from isolation, this has not been an issue to achieve.
I would like to acknowledge the dedication and hard work our staff continue to demonstrate.
This has been, and will continue to be, a whole team effort.
We will be meeting with public health tomorrow and we will let you know if there is any further information to be shared.
We would like to thank you all for your support, kind words and patience during this difficult time.
The phone may not always get answered on your first attempt to contact the facility but please know that our priority remains on keeping your loved ones safe, well and happy.
Please do not hesitate to email the firstname.lastname@example.org
